Alfred E. Smith Office Building
Albany, NY
Total Renovation, Interior & Exterior
The Alfred E. Smith State building is a 250,000
sf historic administrative building which was
originally constructed in 1926. As part of the
State Facilities Modernization Program, the
building was rehabilitated to meet tenant requirements
and to bring it into conformance with current
building codes, and technological advancements.
Included in the required upgrades for the building,
were structural reinforcements, code compliance
modifications, electrical upgrades, modernized
elevators, interior architectural finishes,
exterior cleaning, window and roof membrane
replacements, modernized heating, ventilation
and air conditioning, plumbing, and improved
security systems.
Concost Associates provided cost estimating
services for the total renovation of the building,
including interiors, as well as restoration
of the exterior.
