JFK Airport
Jamaica, NY
International Arrival Building Redevelopment
ConCost Associates provided cost estimating
services in association with Hanscomb Faithful
& Gould.
SOM designed the new $1.4 billion terminal
to serve 7 million annual passengers and replace
the original international arrivals building
through a process of carefully planned and coordinated
construction stages. The terminal has dual-level
roadways, serving arrivals and departures; intermediate
level inside the terminal to incorporate a station
served by the airport's new light rail system,
linking to other terminals, remote parking,
and to a large local station. The international
air terminal is the airport's first to incorporate
an intermodal transit link, built concurrently
with the terminal and is located within the
terminal building itself.
